So here is a little running update.  The half-marathon that I'm doing is coming up this weekend.  :/  Sunday morning to be exact.  Early.  Early on Sunday morning.

Honestly, I'm a little nervous about it.  It's true.  My last run was kind of brutal.  Granted, it was later in the day that I ran and it was HOT!  Plus I didn't go prepared with any energy boosts.  Not to mention I wasn't sleeping well a few nights that week.  I'm REALLY hoping that because circumstances will be different this weekend, I will do better than I expect.  
At any rate I'll be glad when it's done with.  I've come to learn that I don't like the long distance races.  I just like to run when I feel like it.  Training plans bite.  They have their purpose of course and that's good but I don't like anyone telling me when to run and how far.  I want to make it up as I go.  So rebellious I am!  ;)
With that being said though, I think it will feel pretty good to finish knowing that I accomplished something difficult and challenging.  
I will post on Sunday how it went for me.  
My goal?  To sprint to the finish!  I will probably run slowly and hobble through the last few miles and then sprint like nobody's business across that finish line.  Even if I huff and puff and trip and stumble, I plan to finish like a champ.
