I'm 2!

I snapped some pictures of my handsome, quirky, funny, often serious two-year old.  Here he is with his "bike" as he calls it. :)

He has his father's toes.  All three of the kids do for that matter.

Needless to say, I'm in love.

Today Cody turned 5.  I had planned to take some pictures of him this afternoon but while we were at the pool this evening he started to get the shivers and when we got home he had a fever and was clearly not feeling well.  Maybe tomorrow will work better for those special pictures.  I'm thinking he won't change too much in one night.

I took some pictures at the beach on Sunday evening.  My intention was to get the sunset but I got out there too early so I took extra shots of just the sand and ocean.  I think they turned out better than the sunset pictures.

The waves were wild and restless.

Horse Lesson 2

"No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle." ~Winston Churchill~

Some may disagree with that quote.  Not Emma!  She has found a passion.

                                                                        All by herself.

Happy

Supermoon

This is about as good as it gets.  My attempt at photographing the moon.  Supermoon that is.

Kind of looks like a watermelon or something.  :)

Beach Trip Part Two

Friday morning was beautiful.  I packed our towels, snacks, drinks and sunscreen and once again took the kids out to the beach.  They played and played.
Then Cody began that thing that will drive any mother up the wall.  Whine, complain, whine and complain some more.
I don't even remember why.  I don't think even HE knew why.  He sometimes just gets going and doesn't stop.  It's a very bad habit.
Finally I was fed up with it and I turned to him in my frustration and said, "Cody, YOU are complaining.  Do you know what the bible says about complaining?  It says to do all thing things without complaining.  That means you are sinning when you complain."

He sat there in the sand and looked out at the ocean and said quietly with a small shrug of the shoulders, "But I just can't help it!"

There in that moment it dawned on me that I now had his attention and it was quite possible that the Holy Spirit was doing His thing so I said, "I know buddy, you have a sinful flesh and God hasn't saved you yet."

In a short amount of time we talked about how we are all sinners and that we can't save ourselves.
That's why Jesus came.
I told him that repentence means turning from your sins and all the while hoping he would understand what I was trying to say.
"I'm sorry, God!" he said as the tears started to fall.
Then I cried.
I knew that God knew his heart.
And I prayed with him.
And nothing else mattered the rest of that day because in my heart I felt that God met us out on the beach that Friday morning and showed Himself to a four-year old boy and I was just priveleged to be the one to share in it.

So I'm sharing with you.

:)

The rest of the week was just more beach time, a little more Southport time, a visit to the Maritime Museum and then back home on Wednesday afternoon.  We were all FINALLY ready to be home again.

Here are a few more pictures from our trip.

We found a nice park to go to during the cooler evenings.  It made for a great pictures.  The hat was Emma's idea. :)

The only time I allowed my camera on the beach was the last night.  These 3 little people are always my favorite subjects.

Charleston once again continued.

The weather was perfect and on Sunday we walked by the water and through some of the streets after checking out the market.
Sailboats glided past and dolphins were spotted.

Saying goodbye to Charleston as we drive over the Cooper River Bridge.  I may even run that race next year!

Charleston continued

I like this picture of HP.  This was a small coffee shop where we picked up breakfast on Saturday morning.  HP and I shared a chocolate filled pastry thingy.
The owner of the shop was from South Africa.  None of us could guess his accent.  We were all off with guesses like Belgium, Denmark, and Australia...he enjoyed the attention I think. :)

So sorry if this hurts your eyes.  This is a cockeyed view of the restaurant 82 Queen where we had dinner Saturday night.  I do believe it was about 9pm.  Our server looked like Joey from Friends.  "How YOU doin'?"

AG being so photogenic in her bling.  She loves the bling! :)

Trip to Charleston

This past weekend I went with some girlfriends to Charleston, SC for a refreshing getaway.

We did some shopping, talking, eating, walking, laughing, dancing and singing (in the car), and posing for pictures. ;)

We had so much fun and it went by really fast.  Doesn't it always?

We stayed at the Marriot and this was our view.

How could I not put this one on here?  It's shameless I know but JP was kind enough to let me roll through the streets of Charleston driving her Lexus.  And I totally posed for this one.  Shameless.

More to come. (blogger won't let me put too many pics per post! grrr!)
