Musings

I've started reading this book by Elizabeth George, "Loving God with all Your Mind", that my Mom loaned me a few months ago. I hope she doesn't expect it back very soon. :0 I've only gotten through the first part but have learned so much already.

Philippians 4:8 is the focal verse. "Finally brothers, whatever is TRUE, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about THESE things."

Taking every thought captive! Man, am I ever guilty of not doing that. Think on things that are true and real! I have GOT to do that.

She says "Taking our thoughts captive to Christ-to the Word of God, to what is true and real-calls for energy, effort, and a heart commitment to obey God. It is a battle-a battle fought in the mind and a battle for the mind. And it is a battle fought one thought at a time...for victory over one thought at a time. It is warfare! And the truth of Philippians 4:8 is a weapon we simply must have in our arsenal. Praise God, this is a battle we can fight-and win!-by His grace."

Yep, I have SO needed this... only just ALL of my life!
