What a difference a year makes.

When our first baby, Emma, was born my in-laws bought us a video recorder.
 
An idea was given to us to record her every month until the end of the first year when she turned 1.  It was a way of documenting the way she changed and grew and since then we have done it for all three. 

Well I just finished Beau's recording after he turned 1 last month and watched some of it this week. Talk about bitter sweet!

Everybody says that time with your kids goes by really fast.  It's true, it really does.

It got me thinking about what a difference this summer has been compared to last year. 

This year we have been free to go to the beach, hang at the pool, go here and there and have more date fun with my husband. It's been nice.

BUT, I kind of miss the sweetness of last year.  The time spent nursing my little newborn and totin' him around in the bjorn.  I miss seeing him sway back in forth in his baby swing.  I miss the muffins and coffee brought to me first thing in the morning as I nursed my baby.  (Still get the coffee but not the muffins.  Those were good muffins!) And that sweet little baby smell!  Oh how I sniffed his head constantly.  Ok, who am I kidding, he still smells good to me! 

I know several mommas with little babies right now or who will be having them soon.  My advice?  Cherish every moment, kiss them constantly, sniff their sweet heads, and don't sweat the small stuff.  Just enjoy this time because it is most definitely sweet.
